He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kaats and Betty Kaats (Marshall); his brother Mark Hammonds; and his grandson Landen Shawn Anderson. He is survived by: his former wife Judy Houk; his daughter Tanya Hammonds Bigger (Cody); his sister Susan Kaats (Matthew Comstock); his grandchildren, Ava Bigger, Hennessey Bigger, Miley Anderson and Corbin Hammonds; his nephews, Casey Hall (Lizzy), Taylor Jenkins and Cody Jenkins (Megan); his great-nephews, Drelyn, Dax and Dane; his adoptive daughter Amy Nix; Nathan Nix, Natalie Nix and Ryan Nix.
A memorial has been established in Doug's name to help defray funeral expenses. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
