He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Edgar Birk and Lydia Esther Birk; his siblings, Betty, Melvin, Eugene and Dean; and his granddaughter Myka.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Herr (Lincoln); his children, Mike, Jennifer Birk, Tammy, Joe Otto, Jarrid Herr, Jamison and Brianna Herr; his grandchildren, Christopher, Tiffany, Hannah, Collin, Eli, Braxton, Jayce, Brevyn, Katie, Melisa, Samantha, Jarrid Jr. and Greyson; and his great grandchildren, Finnean, Owen, Carter, Oliver and Camden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home (801 Garrettson St, Burlington, KS 66839). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either organization, and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
