He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Wimmer and Doris Wimmer (Nienke); his wife Janie Wimmer; his sons, Eric Geier and Ross Geier; his brother Randy Wimmer; his brother-in-law Rex Togerson (Joe); and his grandson Gabriel Cortez Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Dan Wimmer (Missy) of Bushton, Josh Wimmer of Bushton, Leisha Wimmer of Holyrood and Jamie Martinez (Amanda) of Scott City; his daughter-in-law Sarah Miranda of Galt, California.; his siblings, Roy Wimmer (Ann) of Holyrood and Linda Togerson of Stafford; and his grandchildren, Brevan Martinez, Dillon Wimmer, Mason Wimmer, Gabby Martinez, Jaelynn Wimmer, Zoe Wimmer, Kason Geier, Maddie Wimmer, Kenzi Martinez, Richard Geier, Benton Decker, Wyatt Decker and Remington Wimmer. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
