She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Shrum and Mildred Couey; and her husband Don Shields. She is survived by: her children, Craig Shields (Melissa) of Chanute and Melissa Thomas (Steven) of Kansas City; her stepdaughter LaDonna Watts of Chanute; her brothers-in-law, Radford Shields, John Shields and Larry Shields; and her son-in-law Kirk Petty. She is also survived by son, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great greatgrandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Cherry Street Youth Center and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
