She was predeceased by : her parents, Oliver "Boots" Ivins and Marie Ivins (Ernzen); and her former life partner Deen Bigelow. She is survived by : her husband Robert L. Merritt; her brother Doug Ivins; and her stepchildren, Bill Merritt, Nancy Ahlquist, Sherry Liesemeyer, Larry Bigelow, Theresa Bigelow and Deborah Cowhig (Sherry Staggs). She is also survived by two nieces, a nephew, several cousins, and step-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Grace Episcopal Chanute and they can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
