Sonja Marie Vogel Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonja Marie Vogel of Chanute, Kansas, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Lyle Sanders and Esther Sanders (Bredemeier); and her husband Roland Vogel. She is survived by : her children, Douglas Vogel (Jennifer) of Chanute and Debbie Finley (Greg) of Chanute, Kansas.; her siblings, Harvey Sanders (Betty) of Marion and Frances Sanders of Newton, Kansas.; and her great grandchildren, Radlee, Bowen, Atlas, Keely, Emrie, Saint and Ellasyn. She is also survived by her family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Harry Hynes Hospice and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

“Debbie, Doug and all of the family of Sonja. I worked with Sonja for many years at Home Savings Bank and have great memories of our times together. We were a small bank so we shared all of families with each other. My fondest memories were the stories we shared during morning coffee. Sonja, Jan and Gloria were a tight group at the bank. When I came to work as a young man this group invited me to join this coffee gathering and took me in like mother hens. Sonya was a good friend. Gary Herron”
