He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Bruner and Evelyn Zemitis; and his brother Albert Gustainis. He is survived by: his wife Kristy Custer (Ayres); his children, Christian, Peyton and Keaton; and his siblings, Craig Turley, Russell Custer (Kayo), Michael Custer (Jennifer), Donna Fuller (Darrel) and Elaine Gustainis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, friends.
A rosary will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church (615 N Main St, Garden Plain, KS 67050). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the St. Anthony Cemetery (615 N Main St, Garden Plain, KS 67050).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Honor Flight in recognition of Brian's lifelong commitment to those who served.
