With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Arelva May Brynds of Cherokee, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Arelva left this world on February 4, 2026 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Edgar and Alice Marie Melton (Newport); her son Chris Simpson; and her sisters, Norvella Boccia, April Richardson Farruggia and Rosalie Monroe.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Almond (Randy) of Chanute, KS, Brenda Younger (Dan) of Kansas City, MO, Jeffery Simpson of Cherokee and Michelle Rion (John) of Scammon, KS.; her husband Ted J. Brynds, Sr.; and her brother James Melton (Gertrude). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
