Les Laffery Obituary
We announce the death of Les Laffery of Clay Center, Kansas, who passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 77. Les will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Laffery and Inez Hope Laffery (Ellis); his children, Leslie II and Daphne Everett; and his brothers, Bob and Jim Laffery.
He is survived by: his significant other Carol Laffery; his children, Drew Laffery (Karla) of Manhattan, Andrew Laffery (Theresa) of Tonganoxie, Daniel Laffery (April) of Wichita, James Laffery (Jessica) of Arlington, TX, Mary Ortiz (Michael) of Rockford, IL and Dawn Cook (Joe) of Clay Center; his son-in-law James Everett of Wichita; his brothers, Tom Laffery of Oklahoma City, Jeff Laffery (Stephanie) of Boerne, TX and Mike Laffery of Texas; his sister-in-law Deanna Laffery of Clay Center; and his uncle Bruce Laffery (Lanita) of Clay Center. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Clay Center (1109 Court St, Clay Center, KS 67432).
