We bid farewell to Madeleine M. (Kegle) Blackwood of Clyde, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 11, 2025 at the age of 95. Madeleine touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Kegle and Helen Kegle (Ouellette); her husband Dr. Dean "Doc" James Blackwood; her children, Sonja Risetter and Larry Blackwood; and her sister Barbara Jean Kegle.
She is survived by: her children, Gary Blackwood of Holton, KS, Dr. Terry Blackwood (Tammy) of Concordia, KS, Dr. D. J. Blackwood (Amy) of Westmoreland, KS, Dr. Brad Blackwood (Alisha) of Clyde, KS, Lance Blackwood (Cindi) of Thompsons Station, TN, De Roth (Allen) of Hays, KS, Christine Lawson (Randy) of Agenda, KS, Debbie Blackwood of Holton, KS, Karla Weatherhead (Gary Ramseyer) of Belleville, KS and Jackie Brooks (Wayne) of Winfield, KS; her son-in-law Bill Risetter of Junction City, KS.; and her siblings, Harold Kegle (Linda) of Clyde, KS and Betty Biery of Clyde, KS. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 55 Great grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and at 5:00 PM. A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (212 N High St, Clyde, KS 66938). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be given to the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde Community Hall, Guardians of St. Joseph Church, or Park Villa Nursing Home, in care of Chaput Mortuary, PO Box 291, Clyde, KS 66938.
