With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alva Mae Horn of Colby, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Alva left this world on August 15, 2025 at the age of 76, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. As Alva departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Alva. Though Alva may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gerald Bretton and Helen Bretton (McDonald); her husband Dick Horn; and her children, Kim Moss (Kent), Kevin Horn (Nikki) and Kelby Horn. She was also cherished by her husband of 59 years, her children and their spouses, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and their spouses, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
