She was predeceased by : her husband Francis Ternes (Whitey); her parents, Arthur Kraus and Margaret Kraus (Cordes); her son Michael Ternes; her siblings, Richard, Charles, Stanley Kraus, Rita Leftwich and Jean Fiske; and her great grandchild Bennett Mason.

She is survived by : her children, Vicki (Jim), Steve Ternes (Kay) of Enid, OK, Cheri Downey (Edd) of Wichita, KS, Mary Kay Alloway (Kurt) of Wichita, KS and Lori Porter (Michael) of Wichita, KS; her daughter-in-law Virginia Ternes of Colwich, KS; her brothers, Bernard Kraus of Conway Springs and Gerald Kraus (Jeanne) of Columbus, OH; and her sister-in-law Marie Prilliman of Conway Springs, KS. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

“To Kathleen's family, our deepest sympathy. I regret that no one from the Ben and Dorothy Cordes family will be able to attend her funeral, but be assured we are all praying for her and her family. Although we didn't know the Kraus family well in person, our parents spoke of them so often we felt like we knew all of them.
