He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Clarence Wert and Winnifred Opal Wert (Schammerhorn); and his siblings, Dwayne, Jack Wert, LaWanda Harding and Pauline David.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Wert; his children, Troy Linn Wert of Wichita, Kansas, Shannan Dene Owings (David) of Wichita, Kansas and Christopher Todd Wert of Wichita, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Bo (Melissa), Kalyn, Jordan (Krystal), Abby, Joshua (Cecilia), Bailey, Madison, Brittany and Devin. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
