He is survived by: his children, Karen Doubrava (Joe) of Derby, Janna Haworth (Steve) of Derby and Thomas Hundley (Wendy) of Posey, CA; his brothers, Robert Schmidt of Gainesville, VA and Weye Schmidt of Gillespie; his cousin Mary Engelke (Norman) of Benld, IL; his grandchildren, Daniel Faley of Wichita, KS, Samantha Faley of Overland Park, KS, Andrew (Heather) of Chanute, KS, Jennifer Haworth of Derby, David Faley of Tokyo, Ashley Doubrava of Wichita and Ian Hundley (Meghan) of Carson City, NV; and his great grandchildren, Koryn Crabtree, Colton Leo, Jackson Hundley, Zoey Crabtree, Zaedan Faley, Elise Haworth, Thomas Hundley, William Haworth, Margot Haworth and Elektra Faley.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (214 S Derby Ave, Derby, KS 67037). A memorial service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Lakeview Cemetery (12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67206).
