He was predeceased by: his wife Tommie; his parents, Leo Kennedy and Ida Kennedy (Bruemmer); and his siblings, Patricia Ruiz, Robert Kennedy and Francis.

He is survived by: his children, Charles Kennedy (Wanda), Betty Foster, John Kennedy (Connie), Paul Kennedy, Rob Kennedy (Peggy), Deborah Tillman and Nancy Bockelman (Dick); and his sister-in-law Dolores Kennedy. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
