He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill P. Penka and Omah Opal Penka (Oeser); his wife Mary Penka; his son Curtis Penka; and his brother Jerry (Judy Penka).

He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly (Bill Hogan); his grandchildren, Sarah, Tanner Christensen, Christopher Hogan (Abigail Gartland) and Matthew Hogan; his great grandchildren, Dean Christensen, Rhett Christensen and Jackson Christensen; his sister Janice (Brian Brooks); and his sister-in-law Norma (Wayne Schon).

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Theresa Catholic Church or Healy Methodist Church both in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
