He was predeceased by : his parents, Martin Wendel and Melva Wendel (Batman); his siblings, Don Wendel, Maggie Schiffner and Inez Thomas; and his great grandchild Roston Hanson.

He is survived by : his children, Sean Wendel (Beverly), Cathy Eddy (Todd) and Tina Bruner; his grandchildren, Eric Wendel (Katie), Nathan Wendel (Casey), Rebecca Good (Tyson), Marty Wendel (Alyssa), Elizabeth Kester (Clayton), Katlen Downey (Shawn), Megan Hanson (Kody) and Jordan Clifford; and his siblings, LeRoy Wendel and Alice Marie Scott. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
