He was predeceased by: his father Akuang; and his siblings, Ajak, Thon and Ayen. He is survived by: his spouse Achol Arok Lual Garang of Pathim; his son Akuang; his mother Akur Kuereng Anyang; and his brother Mathung Akuang. He is also survived by his nephews, nieces, uncles, and cousins.
