With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby J. Cook of Dodge City, Kansas, who passed away on November 13, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hessman (Bill) and Gladys Hessman (Trent); her husband William Merle Cook; her son-in-law Richard Haines; her siblings, Robert Hessman, Rose Mary Rinne, Lillian Fitzsimmons, Wilma McCollough and Darlene Hooker; and her siblings-in-law, Fred Rinne, Mac McCollough, Don Fitzsimmons and Pat Hessman.
She is survived by: her children, William Wayne Cook (Lila) of Dodge City, Merle Ray Cook (Rhonda) of Dodge City, Linda Lou Haines of Dodge City and Karan Kay Stout (Gerald) of Spearman, Texas; her siblings, Frank Hessman of Eugene, Oregon and Sandy Salmans (Arlyn) of Cimarron; and her brother-in-law C. L. Hooker of Dodge City. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; and 39 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City in care of the funeral home.
