He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Laura (Copple) and Walter Russell O'Neil; his wife Kathleen Elizabeth O'Neil (Reynolds); his son Joe O'Neil; his brother Leonard O'Neil; his son-in-law Jim Hatfield; and his grandsons, Ryan O'Neil and Dustin O'Neil.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Hatfield; his daughter-in-law Patricia O'Neil; his grandchildren, Weston Bucher (Tiffany), Ashley O'Neil (Stephanie) and Calen O'Neil; and his great grandchildren, Hunter O'Neil and Julian Bucher.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Headley Funeral Chapel (813 State St, Augusta, KS 67010). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church - Douglass (107 S Maple St, Douglass, KS 67039). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 at the Douglass Cemetery East 8th.
