With sadness, we share the passing of Wendell John Brummer (Downs, Kansas). Wendell, born on March 12, 1926 in Tipton, Kansas, passed away on September 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Brummer and Katherine Brummer (Ketter); his wife Delores Regina Schroeder of Tipton; and his siblings, Edwin, Donald, Doris Marie Fogo, Vivian Steerman and Ruth Ellen Dubbert.
He is survived by: his children, David, Ronald of Downs, James (Chris) of Hutchinson, Darla Alflen (Richard) of Downs and Gina Brummer of Burleson; his grandchildren, Kyle Alflen, Matthew Brummer (Lyric) and Hannah Younger (Jacob); his great grandchildren, Caroline Logan and Ella Jo Younger; his siblings, Wayne Brummer of Great Bend and Carol Suter of Aurora; and his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Pahls of Beloit, Carolyn Schmitt and Richard Schmitt of Cawker City.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Marys Catholic Church (1312 Prentiss St, Downs, KS 67437). A rosary was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Downs Cemetery (345 W 40th Dr, Downs, KS 67437).
