He was predeceased by: his parents, Covell Hawk and Emma Hawk (Hinz); his wife Shirley M Lassley; and his siblings, William "Billy" Hawk and Judy Kruse.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Parnell (David) of Effingham, KS, Diana Hulings (Craig) of Carbondale, KS, Kate Roque (Greg), Terry Hawk (Diane) of Lawrence, KS, Tom Hawk (Cheryl) of Lancaster, KS and Covell Hawk of Effingham, KS; and his siblings, Duane Hawk (Mildred) of Effingham, KS and Venita Jo Rader of Atchison, KS. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Becker Chapel (402 3rd St, Effingham, KS 66023). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery.
The family request memorial contributions to the Effingham Union Church or Amberwell Hospice and may be sent to the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who provides cremation care.
