Doug will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Doug will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Doug’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Richey and Marjorie Richey (Wheeler); and his brother-in-law Chuck Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Henry; his sons, Mike Richey (Denise) and Matt Richey (Amber); and his sisters, Sharon Uhlik, Kathy Thomas and Jackie Smith (Bob). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Walnut Valley Memorial Park (725 Boyer Rd, El Dorado, KS 67042).
