He was predeceased by: his parents, Villa "Bud" Thomas and Bessie Thomas (Bayless); and his siblings, Tom Thomas, Jim Thomas, Jack Thomas, Ted Thomas, Nellie Wehry and Jerry Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Villa Joe Thomas (Tomasina) of Burns, Robert Joe Thomas of Benton, Teri Jane Beedles (David) of Eureka, James Wyatt Thomas (Gracyn) of Augusta and Jack Spur Thomas (Lea) of Burns; his grandchildren, Shelaine Ione Thomas (Tyler), Villa Joe Thomas II and Jacob Ward Thomas (Delaney); his great grandchild Emerson Steele Thomas; his sister-in-law Dorothy (Tom); and his nieces and nephews, Betty Jo Melson, Linda Wallace, Jay Thomas, David Thomas, Tina Crigger, Mark Thomas, Michelle Higgins (Tracy), Becky Dale, Buddy Lee Thomas (Shelley) and Eugene Thomas.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home (200 S Star St, El Dorado, KS 67042). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
