It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie L. McElwain of Elk City, Kansas, who passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Delbert and Wanda America McElwain (Foster); and his siblings, Jimmie Lynn McElwain, Jannet Imler, Twyla McElwain and Marie McElwain.
He is survived by: his wife Holly McElwain; his children, Johnnie McElwain (Amber) of Elk City, Kansas and Mandi Johnson (Josh) of Elk City, Kansas; his stepchildren, Earnest Hufferd of Elk City, Kansas, Kenneth Hufferd of Elk City, Kansas, Jennifer Robinson (John) of Toronto, Kansas, Jessica Robinson (Steven) of Ketchum, Oklahoma and Amanda Long (Joshua) of Havana, Kansas; his sisters, Glenda Jean McLaughlin of Temecula, California, Genneth Moon of Topeka, Kansas and Judy Skipper of Whitesburg, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Ashton Oliver, Addison Simmons (Sidney), Hayden Simmons and Joshlynn Johnson. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisburg Township Rural Fire District and may be left with the chapel.
