He was predeceased by: his parents, Lando Lauren Ellis (Gladys Ellis) and Clara Elvira Hicks (Milam); his wife Phyllis Ann Ellis; his grandson Alex Lynn Ellis; and his brother Tim Ellis.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Ellis (Sheena), Shanda Ellis, Denay Scharpf and Renay Houck; his siblings, Rick Ellis (Ardith), Cary Ellis (Shauna) and Shirley Burnett; and his grandchildren, Calum, Ember, Kobie, Ganina, Kendel, Kaelyn and Noah.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Robson Funeral Home Chapel (120 Grant St, Elkhart, KS 67950). A reception will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 619 Airport Rd, Elkhart, KS 67950.

A memorial has been established for the Men's Golf Association at Point Rock Golf Club in Elkhart.
