Gary Simmons Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Simmons of Elkhart, Kansas, born in Hugoton, Kansas, who passed away on August 11, 2021 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivan Simmons and Nellie Simmons (Rankin); and his parents-in-law, Walt Ridenour and Pat Ridenour. He is survived by : his wife Laurie Ridenour; his sons, Darrin (Rhonda) of Cincinnati, OH and Eric (Megan) of Pittsburg, KS; his grandchildren, Hannah, Weston, Cameron Simmons of Cincinnati, OH, Cade, Cooper, Carston and Colton Simmons of Pittsburg, KS.; and his siblings, Ivan Simmons, Jerry Simmons and Verna Reazin. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In keeping with Gary's love of both sports and his hometown, the family has asked that memorial contributions be given to the Elkhart High School Athletic Department in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
