He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Pfeifer and Martina Pfeifer (Fross); his brother Richard; and his siblings-in-law, Eldo Senesac and Betty Pfeifer.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary; his children, Ernie Pfeifer, Jr. (Sherry) of Ellis, David Pfeifer (LuAnn) of Ellis, Jerry Pfeifer (Nancy) of Ellis, Jim Pfeifer (Linda) of Ellis and Christine Gist (Mike); his grandchildren, Ernest Pfeifer III (Ann), Lynn Leiker (Landon), Jessica Klaus (Joe), Sarah Gist, Danielle Flinn (Todd), Dylan Pfeifer (Brandi), Nicole Brown (Mitch), Scott Pfeifer (Hailey), Cole Pfeifer (Lanie), Lexie Hawkins (Avery) and Derek Pfeifer (Brooklyn); and his siblings, Kenneth Pfeifer and Mary Ann Senesac.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (703 Monroe St, Ellis, KS 67637). A rosary was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Ernest's memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellis, Kansas and the Ellis Good Samaritan Society in care of Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory – Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E 17th, Ellis, KS 67637.
