She was predeceased by: her parents, George Newell and Alma Newell (Brin); her husband Vernon Lawrence LaBarge; and her siblings, Evangeline LaBarge (Newell) and Jasper Newell.
She is survived by: her children, Martin LaBarge (Debbie), Leland LaBarge, Verlene Waldschmidt (Charlie), Leonard LaBarge and Kevin LaBarge (Vicki). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Irene's memory to St. Mary's Catholic School – Ellis, Kansas and the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
