He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Joe" Shanelec and Anna Shanelec (Stehno); his wife Jean Fladger; his daughter Sue; and his sister Norma Jean Lyle.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Shanelec (Catherine) and Abby Seiler (Rick); his grandchildren, Anthony Reid, Elizabeth Reid, Jaime Cedarquist, Jeffrey Yeakel, Alec Shanelec, Evan Shanelec, Lucas Seiler, Kyle Seiler, Christopher Seiler and Torry Seiler; and his friend Doris Taylor. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
