She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Ford and Redora Ford (Carter); her sister Carla Mendez; and her daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Gilger. She is survived by: her husband Donald Gilger; her son Eric (Lesley); her grandchildren, Breanna (Garrison) and Christopher (Kelsey); and her great grandchildren, Milo and Vivian.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home (605 State St, Emporia, KS 66801). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
