We announce the death of Vicky Sue Mercer of Eudora, Kansas, who passed away on August 27, 2026, at the age of 73. Vicky will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donna Baney and Billie Baney; her parents-in-law, Mary Lou and Bill Mercer; her brother Rick Baney; and her brothers-in-law, Tom Mercer and Bill Mercer.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Mercer; her children, Dawnita Schaffer of Gardner, Kansas and Jason Mercer (Lisa) of Omaha, Nebraska.; her grandchildren, Trinity Vetere of North Carolina, Dalton Mercer of Omaha and Lane Mercer of Omaha; and her siblings, Randy Baney (Susie) of Benkelman and Sharon Jamieson. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Hesper Friends Church (2355 N 1100 Rd, Eudora, KS 66025).
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Jerry Mercer or Dawnita Schaffer and the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
