He is survived by: his children, James Carter (Susie) of Wichita, Carol Holmes (Joe) of Halstead and Cynthia Allen (Dave) of Rochester, Minnesota; and his granddaughters, Lori Taylor, Sara Dockery (Jason), Joanna Lacanlale (Joseph), Megan McGraw (Daniel), Debra Allen (Casey), Melanie Kulmeshkenova (Tastan), Danielle Allen (Josh) and Michelle Allen.
