He was predeceased by : his father Donald James "Junior". He is survived by : his mother Carol LaVonne Bratton (Brown); his former life partner Kim Blevins; his wife Lisa Cheryl Hand; his daughters, Kamea Bratton of Eureka, Krecenta Clark of Eureka, Kelsey Bratton of Kansas City, Kansas and Allison Derryberry of Hamilton; his sister Lisa Middleton of Emporia, Kansas; and his half-brother Thomas Worth of Burbank, California.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
