He was predeceased by : his parents, Delbert and Mary L. Slead (Grubaugh); his daughter Deanna Jo; his siblings, Arzella Lahar and James Slead; his former life partner Clara V. LaVanway; and his grandsons, Cody and Dustin Hertter.

He is survived by : his daughter Lori Ann (Aaron Davis); his wife MaeBeth Postlethwait; his grandson Matthew Maxson (Kelsie Davis); his great grandchild Lakelynn Davis; his daughter Beth Postlethwait; his granddaughter Shelby (Tony Kordupel); and his great grandchild Makayla Kordupel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Eureka Nursing Center.
