He is survived by : his grandmother Carol Edwards; his parents, Deana Gaines (Felter) and James "Doc" Bumgardner; his wife Chryston Bumgardner (McCullough); his children, Evangeline, Westin, AriBayla Nickelson (Bumgardner), Madison, Logan and Franke Bumgardner; and his sisters, Bobbie Jo Bidwell, Terra Lockwood and Sylvia Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the James Bumgardner Family Fund.
