She was predeceased by: her parents, Enos D. Van Royen and Ollie D. Van Royen (Smith); her husband Joseph Simons Sr.; her boyfriend Harold Lazzers; and her siblings, John William Van Royen, Lily Cheever, Esther Meyer, Alma Boardman and Glenice Chastain.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph F. Simons, Jr. (Bonnie) of Albuquerque and Tina Marie Graf (Chuck) of Salina, Kansas; her grandchildren, Katelynn Simons, Joey Simons, Mark Hodges and Shawn Hodges; and her sister Karen Meyer (Richard) of Haysville, Kansas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Severy Alumni Association.
