He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey and Gladys (Stripling); and his siblings, Harvey, Wayne Thomas and Bessie Ray.

He is survived by: his children, Chris Thomas, Amy Trost (Brandon) and Brandon Hager (Jessica); and his sisters, Elizabeth Bearden and Diane Hanson (Freddie). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.
