He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Lafayette and Dorothy Lavella Pottorff Barr; and his siblings, Darrel Barr and Marita Bigelow. He is survived by: his wife Rita A Keating; his sons, Brent Barr of Wichita and Darren Barr of Fort Scott; and his sisters, Charlene (John Keating) and Charlotte (Alan Stewart). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home (15 W Wall St, Fort Scott, KS 66701). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church (714 S Eddy St, Fort Scott, KS 66701).
