As we bid Charles Howard farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Charles Howard is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Col. Howard C. Cress and Arnstina Cissna Cress; his sister Mary Lou Welch; and his son Karl Heinz. He is survived by: his wife Gertie Konrad; his children, Allan Cress of Ft. Scott, Kansas and Ingrid Bohm of Germany; his nephew Jim; and his niece Patty.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (308 S Crawford St, Fort Scott, KS 66701).
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
