It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marlene M. Gettler of Fort Scott, Kansas, born in Greensburg, Kansas, who passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Earl R. Murphy and Florence E. Murphy (Pinnick); and her siblings, Kathleen Stewart, Gloria Peña and Dr. Jerry Murphy.

She is survived by : her husband Dr. Dean T. Gettler; her children, Julie Silfverberg, Juha of Overland Park, Bryan Gettler of Kalkaska, Thomas Gettler and Michele of Topeka, Kansas; her sister Marise Sisson of Dana Point, California; and her grandchildren, Jessica Torres-Sosa, Janne Silfverberg, Dakotah Gettler, Cpt. Benjamin Gettler, Brooke Webb and Blake Gettler. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation and may be left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 309, Fort Scott, Kansas, 66701.
