He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leroy and Frances Lucille McClaren (Vanderee); his son Leland B. McClaren; and his siblings, Jay, Willis, David, Eileen, Thelma and Carolyn.
He is survived by: his wife Norma McClaren (Blanchett); his children, Diane (Howard) of Odessa, MO, Janice (Jim) of Longview, TX and Doug (Michelle); his grandchildren, Ryan Leek (Julie) of Milford, NH, Tonya Lore (Brian) of Overland Park, KS, Bryce McClaren (Katie) of Fowler, Jason McClaren (Morgan) of Fowler, Matt McClaren (Kimmi) of Fowler, Laurel Hawes of Longview, TX and Michael Hawes of Madisonville, LA; Judy Wheaton. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary (212 S Fowler St, Meade, KS 67864). A graveside service was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Fowler Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler Cemetery Flag Project in care of the funeral home.
