It is with sadness that the passing of Shelby L. Bergkamp Huslig of Fowler, Kansas is shared. Shelby, born on December 12, 1933, passed away on September 27, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Moore and Melba Moore (Milligan); her husbands, Donald F. Bergkamp and Herman H. Huslig; her sister Susan Thomas; her grandsons, Travis and Jarrett; and her great grandchild Parker.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Bergkamp (Erin) of Fowler, Mitch Bergkamp (Robin) of Garden City, Kansas, Denise Amaro of Coldwater, Michelle Applegate (Jim) of Beaver and Debbie Taylor (Skip) of Wichita, Kansas; and her siblings, Michael Moore of Newton, Kansas, Jane Church of Perkins and Sherry Rutschman of Arizona. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren;2 step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 6 step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary (212 S Fowler St, Meade, KS 67864). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the St Anthony's Catholic Church (411 W 4th Ave, Fowler, KS 67844). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
The family welcomes memorials to St. Anthony's Catholic Church or Fowler Residential Care Center, in care of the funeral home.
