He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Howell and Mary Howell (Hadorn); and his siblings, Walter Howell, Madelyn Turnbull, Marge Glynn, Kenny Howell and Roger Howell.

He is survived by : his wife Frances Ann Noud; his sons, Joe Howell (Penny) and Pat Howell (Kathy) of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Aaron Howell (Annie), Matt Howell, Alyse Hsu (Edward), Meredith Bergmann (Matt) and Mark Howell (Gentry); and his great grandchildren, Charlie Howell, Lillian Howell, Henry Hsu, Allan Bergmann, Wrigley Howell, Leona Bergmann and Brecken Howell.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
