He was predeceased by : his parents, John Phillip Sr. and Ellen Grace Harrington (McCoy); his brother Harold Harrington; and his siblings-in-law, Julia Harrington and John Colglazier.

He is survived by : his niece Tami Borck; his wife Wilma Suther; his children, Joe Harrington, Diane Luebcke (John) of Herkimer, KS, Rebecca Reddy (Gautham), Janel Harrington of Iowa City, IA, Michael Harrington and Erin Harrington; his siblings, Charlie Harrington, Kathleen Lanksburry (Roger) of Manhattan, KS, Peggy Harrington, David Harrington (Debby) of Kansas City, KS, Susan Colglazier of Larned, KS, Dennis Harrington (Kathy) and Rita Harrington of Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, David Luebcke (Alaycia), Grace Luebcke, Henry Luebcke, Mia Reddy, Vijay Reddy, Jenavi Reddy, Jonas Carpenter, Calvin Carpenter, Nadine Carpenter, Myra Harrington and Ariyah Harrington; and his great grandchildren, Simon and Russell Luebcke.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Harry Hynes Memorial. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Annunciation Catholic Church (213 E 5th St, Frankfort, KS 66427). A rosary was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Annunciation Catholic Church (213 E 5th St, Frankfort, KS 66427).

A memorial fund has been established to Annunciation Catholic Church.
