With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Earlene L. Appelhans of Garden City, Kansas, born in Fort Scott, Kansas, who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Melvin Eli and Gladys Pearl McMenomy (Osborn); her spouse J. J. "Red" Appelhans; her son Steven Appelhans; her son-in-law Pete Maestas; and her siblings, Earl McMenomy, Doris Warner and Jean Allen.
She is survived by : her children, Julius E. (Debbie Appelhans), John Appelhans of Greeley and Kathie Maestas of Garden City; her grandchildren, Jeromy (Holli Maestas), Jenni (Shane Hipp), Jill (Randy Lucas) and Jason Appelhans; her great grandchildren, Shaquille, Micala Ornelas, Aneesa Maestas, Zander Maestas, Kylee Hipp, Connor Hipp, Keaton Lucas and Katelyn Lucas; and her great great grandchildren, Marani Ornelas and Amari Ornelas.
