He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Canuto and Catlina Martinez (Sisneros); his wife Linda R. Morgan; his sons, Joe Martinez, Donny Martinez and Ronnie Martinez; his siblings, Ermina "Mini" Saiz, Nestor Martinez, Ernest Martinez, Elvera Martinez, Richard Martinez, Sara Santistevan, Flora Bergamo and Mary Sergura; and his grandson Frankie Martinez.
He is survived by: his children, Merlin Fry (Cindy), Ron Fry (Laurie), LaVonda Fry, Butch Romero, Victoria Garcia (Giles), Louisa Martinez and Chaney Hoskinson (Tod); and his brothers, Floyd Martinez and Robert Martinez. He is also survived by grandchildren; 10+ great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
