He is survived by: his wife Anita Christine Kimes; his children, Rebecca Clark (Albert) of Dannebrog, NE, Christopher Spitz (Julie) of Boise, ID, Daniella McChesney (Jim) of Ogallala, NE, Bathsheba Richardson (Dustin) of Garden City, KS, Elihu Spitz (Naveena) of Austin, TX, Samuel Spitz of Grand Island, NE, Angela Shepard (Shawn) of Quinter, KS, Isaac Spitz (April) of St. Paul, NE and Jerusha Ratcliffe (Michael); his grandchildren, James (Melissa), Hannah, Colton, Sarah, Noah Clark, Justin, Jeremy (Melissa), Jolie-Ann Boyll, Ethan Richardson, Sonia, Meena Spitz, Cristian Lopez, Draiman Spitz, Cassandra Wertz (Matt), Cody, Lea Richardson, Anita and Rex; his great grandchildren, Liam, Lauren, Kayla Wertz, Betty Boyll and Michah Lopez; his siblings, Charlotte Smith (Larry) of Boelus, NE, Mary Smith (Tim) of Oceanside, CA and Fred Spitz (Linda) of Glenvil, NE; Judy Largent (Dennis), Elaine Platt, Jeff Kimes (Shannon) and David Kimes (Christine). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Garnand Funeral Home (412 N 7th St, Garden City, KS 67846). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery (12004 S Spur 56a, Maxwell, NE 69151).
