With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Doris Ann Ast (Garden Plain, Kansas), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Doris left this world on June 20, 2025 at the age of 99, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter and Mary Horsch, Jr. (Heimerman); her husband Ray; her siblings, Eluta, Raymond, Stanley, Frank and Bernice; and her grandson Jeremy Starnes.
She is survived by: her children, Peg Garthright (Tom) of Foxfield, Jim Ast (Sandy) of Ingalls, Mari Starnes (Brad) of Riley, Joyce Lasseter (Dean) of Columbia, Tom Ast (Karla) of Ingalls, Becky Hermreck (Carl) of Wichita and David Ast (Kristy) of Cimarron, Kansas; and her sister Lorraine Rorick of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary (911 Biermann St, Garden Plain, KS 67050). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Ost Catholic Church (13015 E Maple Grove Rd, Mt Hope, KS 67108). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
