He was predeceased by : his parents, Lucian Barkdull and Pearl Barkdull (Adams); and his siblings, Cherrill Labrum, Brent Barkdull and Lucy Bell Ethington.

He is survived by : his wife Maria Barkdull; his children, Duane Barkdull (April), David Boydstun (Christina) and Susan Cross (Rick); his grandchildren, Sylvia, Ryan, Aubree and Allison Barkdull; and his siblings, Sonya Kearns (Jerry) and Buddy Barkdull (Amelia).

A memorial service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Wulf - Ast Mortuary (911 Biermann St, Garden Plain, KS 67050). The inurnment was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery (1208 N College St, Winfield, KS 67156).
